I really enjoy making handmade gifts for people. So when I found out that a friend who was having a baby boy choose a space theme for the nursery I knew I wanted to make something that would match. I had knitted several toys before so I knew that was something I could handle so I got to work looking for a pattern. I found a cute Alien pattern at Knitty. It is called ZoZo by Pauline Wickens, check out her blog she has other cute toy patterns to make. I struggled a bit with the feet so I just did a little modification to the pattern by knitting the feet up like the alien's tail. I also made his arms longer so it would be easier for holding and carrying around.
Think the blanket the alien is on is cute? Good, I'll let you know where I found out how to make it next Monday. What have you knit as a gift? I would love to know. I would also love to gift more handmade things, now only if I had the time. Or maybe that is what Etsy is for.
